Assyrian Archers II

A second stand of Assyrian heavy archers moves off the painting desk.  Like all figures in the early stages of this project, figures are from Wargames Foundry.
Based for Impetvs, these nine figures bring the total stands fielded for the project, thus far, to six infantry, four heavy chariot (two chariots each), and one chariot stand for the king.  These totals bring the project close to a BI2.0 force.
On the painting desk can be found two, four figure stands of Assyrian mounted archers.  After those are fielded, painting attention may turn towards a stand or two of auxiliary infantry.
Other projects are witnessing work at the workbench but painting productivity has seemingly slowed to a trickle as other projects wrestle for my time.

  1. Very nice, they have a sense of determination. Those 2 x chariot bases must be weighty beasts. It s going to be one cracking looking army when done.

    1. Thanks, Norm! Two heavy, four horse chariots on a 120mm frontage is a weighty beast, indeed!

  2. The yellow undergarment guves a very good effect. Is this a historical choice based on some specific reference or an informed decision on your part?

    1. I do not know if the pale yellow (I use "straw") is historical or not but it is pleasing to my eye. With a lack of evidence to the contrary, why not?

    1. Thank you! The large base footprint is one of the attractions to Impetvs.

    1. Yes, indeed! The next two units off the painting desk will be diversions from this project, though.

  6. Another great of archers Jonathan! Do the Impetus lists have these as mixed units with spearmen?

    1. Thanks, Mike!

Impetvs does not have them mixed but I do not see why not. Impetvs does allow a stand of spearmen and a stand of archers to form a large unit, though. That accomplishes the same goal.
